The Party for Socialism and Liberation “believes that the only solution to the deepening crisis of capitalism is the socialist transformation of society.” They have consistently engaged with electoral politics, fielding presidential candidates in the 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020 elections. Beyond its political campaigns, PSL extends its influence through various media platforms. Liberation News, an online newspaper, serves as a conduit for their perspectives and analyses. Breaking the Chains, a print magazine; and Liberation School, operating as an educational website that promotes radical leftist ideologies. In 2020 the group arranged events that turned into violent riots. During a protest in New York, PSL speakers spoke saying “resistance is not terrorism” and endorsed resistance against “the Zionist entity…by any means necessary.” On January 1, 2025, the group partnered with People’s Forum, and the Palestinian Youth Movement to flood the streets of Manhattan for an anti-Israel protest with supporters calling for a “global intifada”. This coincides with the same day of the occurrence of an Islamic terrorist attack in New Orleans that left 15 dead and at least 35 wounded.
