The Party for Socialism and Liberation “believes that the only solution to the deepening crisis of capitalism is the socialist transformation of society.” They have consistently engaged with electoral politics, fielding presidential candidates in the 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020 elections. Beyond its political campaigns, PSL extends its influence through various media platforms. Liberation News, an online newspaper, serves as a conduit for their perspectives and analyses. Breaking the Chains, a print magazine; and Liberation School, operating as an educational website that promotes radical leftist ideologies. In 2020 the group arranged events that turned into violent riots. PSL said in a video that the 2020 riots will happen again but they will be bigger this time around.

On April 25, 2024, the Party for Socialism and Liberation attempted to organize a mass protest on the campus of Northwestern University. This same organization promised that the race riots of 2020 will happen “again” and be “bigger this time.”
