ANTIFA Asheville is an active chapter member of the national torch network. They also have a long history of violence in the city. Members of Asheville ANTIFA partook in violent protests during the Summer of 2020 in which blogger Chad Nesbitt claimed he was almost killed. Asheville ANTIFA also dropped a coffin full of manure outside the Asheville Police Department’s headquarters. It is believed members of Asheville ANTIFA have sway in colleges and among local elected offices in the Asheville area. 

On June 29, 2024, during an event at the West Asheville Public Library, ANTIFA activists and members of Firearms Book Coop attacked elderly Jewish patrons others while shouting, “Free, free Palestine!”
